Spiritually Sensitive Service: Expanding Horizons of Social Work Practice

Spiritually sensitive service can offer new opportunities for the social work profession.
Spiritually sensitive social work is being considered as an emerging area of practice. The
paper highlights significant findings of the explorative study undertaken by the investi-
gator during the past three years. It explores the spiritual foundation of the social work
profession, attitude of professional social workers towards spiritually sensitive social work
and the scope for the application of spirituality in various fields of the profession.
