Restoring the Dignity of Acid Attack Survivors: Collective Approach
Abstract
This qualitative study investigates the technique of collective approach initiated by the Chhanv Foundation (CF) for reinstating acid attack survivors in society. Data was collected through a variety of sources, including interviews, social media, and news coverage, on how a socially responsible group can collectively help acid attack survivors to restore their dignity. The study focuses on how acid attacks reproduce inequalities by devaluing survivors as inferior human beings and how a collective approach can restore their dignity by empowering them economically, and possibly change the society’s view towards them.
